Nerd Battles is a quiz app from Haga Studios with several arenas; Nördkampen is the first. This policy covers the app, all of its arenas and the website nerdbattles.com. We store as little as possible and never sell data to anyone.
Who is responsible
The data controller is Johannes Axelsson, who runs Haga Studios in Sweden. You can reach us at support@nerdbattles.com.
What the app stores
- Your player name, which you choose yourself and which other players can see.
- A sign-in key that is generated at random and stored in the app. The server only stores a hash of the key.
- Your matches and results in each arena: who you played, your answers, score, level and daily challenges.
- Which questions you have seen, so that you don't get the same questions again.
- Where you found the app, if you opened it through a shared link (for example, that the link came from a challenge).
- Questions you have reported as incorrect.
We don't ask for your real name, email address, phone number or location, and the app does not read your contacts or files.
Why we store it
The data is needed for the game to work: to find opponents, save matches, keep score and show leaderboards. We use where you found the app and the questions you reported to improve the game and its questions. The legal basis is the agreement between you and us when you play, and for improvements our legitimate interest in developing the game.
Where the data is stored
The data is stored on our server with a hosting provider that only processes it on our behalf. Data is encrypted in transit between the app and the server.
How long we keep it
We keep the data for as long as you have an account. When the account is deleted, your player name, matches and results are removed.
Deleting your account
See Delete account for the steps. In short: email support@nerdbattles.com with your player name and we delete the account and everything linked to it within 30 days.
This website
The website uses no cookies, no tracking and no analytics, and the fonts are served from our own server. Our web host processes technical data such as IP addresses in its logs to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. If you email us, we keep the email for as long as the matter is open.
Your rights
You have the right to know what data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how we use it. Contact us at the address above. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (imy.se) or your local data protection authority.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If the app starts collecting anything new, for example for ads or Google sign-in, we will update this page before that change reaches the app.
